Meet Emily Kicklighter
Emily Kicklighter is a theatrically trained actress and writer who started her health journey as a yoga instructor in Brooklyn, NY, in 2010. She holds a master's degree in performance and a master's degree in teaching, has over 500 hours of yoga teacher training, and is a certified Radical Remission Coach* and Metabolic Terrain Advocate°. She studied under Dr. Kelly Turner and Dr. Nasha Winters and attributes her own healing with stage 4 cancer to a science-backed, aggressive, integrated approach. A de novo metastatic breast cancer diagnosis at 43 led her down a path of multidisciplinary research and radical lifestyle changes. Her passion lies in shifting the lens through which we view disease (both in our bodies and in our society) by employing the hidden resources in neuroscience and ecology.
*The Radical Remission Multimodal Intervention (RRMI) was developed by Kelly A. Turner, PhD, after analyzing more than 1500 cases of cancer survivors experiencing radical remission (a.k.a. spontaneous regression) across all cancer types and extracting key lifestyle factors shared by these cancer survivors. The RRMI workshops provide instruction on these lifestyle factors to participants with cancer and give them tools to help navigate their cancer recovery journey. This pilot study aimed to evaluate the effect of the RRMI on the quality of life (QOL) of people with cancer. Emily is a certified Radical Remission Workshop Facilitator and Coach.
°The Metabolic Terrain Institute of Health Terrain Advocate Program is for individuals with cancer, nutritionists and dietitians, health coaches, motivators and problem solvers, and passionate advocates for change.
